From 2 to 4 December, EucA supported the organization of the Strategic Forum of the University Colleges of Merit in the framework of Progetto Europa, an initiative by CCUM (Conferenza dei Collegi Universitari di Merito) aiming to shine a light on the Italian model of the University College and its benefits.
Representatives of the Collegi Universitari di Merito, guided by EucA, held crucial meetings at the European Parliament with the goal of rethinking and strengthening the student residential experience across all Europe.
The unique occasion held discussions focused on new avenues for funding, innovation, and collaboration that can support the expansion and modernization of student living environments. The dialogue highlighted the importance of the European Affordable Housing Plan, which aims to mobilize investment to expand accessible, sustainable, and high-quality housing.
This is the model CCUM, EucA, and its network of professionals continue to champion: residential colleges as transformative spaces where students can grow, connect, and thrive.
As a last stop of the Brussels mission, the delegation visited the European Investment Bank (EIB), examining how EU-backed financial tools can help scale affordable, high-quality residential facilities for students.
As Progetto Europa completes its first year, the Strategic Forum marked an important milestone and a promising step toward a stronger, more innovative future for student living in Europe.
