From 12 to 14 November 2025, Porto became the meeting point for the largest and most impactful edition of the European Conference for Student Affairs and Services (ECSAS) to date.
Centered on the theme “Navigating Societal Trends and Changes: The Evolving Role of Student Affairs in Higher Education,” ECSAS 2025 gathered nearly 300 Student Affairs professionals from across the globe — making it a truly record-breaking year for the conference.
Over three days, participants explored how rapid societal, cultural, and technological shifts are reshaping universities and student needs. Through keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions, the conference sparked inspiring conversations on equity, well-being, leadership, digital transformation, and the future of student development.
But the exchange of knowledge extended far beyond the formal sessions. ECSAS 2025 was marked by meaningful hallway conversations, professional networking moments, and vibrant dialogues that reinforced the importance of community within the Student Affairs field.
“It was a great opportunity to meet other professionals in the field as well as get lots and lots of ideas. And also to figure out that I’m not the only one that goes through what everybody elese goes through in this profession” Thanos Zyngas, Director of the University of St. Thomas (Rome Campus), Italy.
Participants also enjoyed a rich cultural immersion in Porto — from walking its historic streets to tasting traditional petiscos and experiencing the emotion of live fado. These shared experiences added depth to the conference, strengthening connections and fostering a sense of belonging among peers.
At the heart of ECSAS is the longstanding collaboration between EucA and NASPA, whose dedication and shared vision make this annual gathering possible. Their partnership once again ensured an enriching, forward-looking, and inspiring edition.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants, speakers, partners, and volunteers who contributed to the success of this remarkable event.
We look forward to continuing these important conversations and welcoming the Student Affairs community to ECSAS 2026, as we work together to shape the future of higher education.
