Shaping the future of Europe with the new generation
From 12 to 15 October 2026, over 20 students from across Europe gathered in Perugia, Italy, for the Student Bootcamp: "Shaping the Future" event organized by EucA and Fondazione ONAOSI. The four-day program featured interactive workshops, orientation seminars, and training sessions that explored young people's role in shaping the European Union’s future.
The inaugural ceremony set the stage for four days of learning and dialogue. Hosted at the historic Collegio della Sapienza, the opening session brought together representatives of higher education institutions to address youth engagement in today’s international geopolitical landscape.
The ceremony also offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on Europe’s future, with a lecture by Enzo Moavero Milanesi, President of UNIDROIT. His speech:“The Role of Young People in the Future of the EU in the Current International Geopolitical Landscape” shed light on the intersection between EU institutions and youth-focused citizenship.
The inaugural event also welcomed:
Amedeo Bianco, President of Fondazione ONAOSI;
Vittoria Ferdinandi, Mayor of Perugia;
Don Emanuele Meconcelli, Vice-President of CCUM (Conferenza dei Collegi Universitari di Merito);
Camilla Laureti, Member of the European Parliament (S&D Group);
Gian Luca Giovannucci, President of EucA;
Massimiliano Marianelli, Rector of the University of Perugia; and
Francesco Asdrubali, Vice-Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia.
Through a combination of expert contributions, interactive training, and intercultural exchange, the Bootcamp offered participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding of EU institutions, reflect on contemporary democratic and economic challenges, and develop leadership skills relevant to their future academic and professional paths.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all participants and speakers, as well as to all the organisations and institutions whose support and collaboration helped make this edition of the Student Bootcamp unforgettable.
