Last week, Brussels turned into a living campus for 40 university students from the Conferenza Collegi Universitari di Merito (CCUM) and Fondazione ONAOSI during EucA’s Brussels Study Visit. It was an immersive journey into the world of European institutions, policymaking, and international relations.

From 21 to 24 October 2025, these aspiring leaders experienced three dynamic days packed with institutional visits, interactive workshops, networking sessions, and hands-on learning about the European Union’s inner workings.

Participants had the opportunity to visit the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Institute of Arab Culture, the House of European History, and Euractiv, gaining firsthand insight into how the EU shapes policy and public discourse. A special highlight came through the EucA Career Coaching sessions, where students honed their soft skills, built their confidence, and learned how to make meaningful professional connections in international environments.

A special thank you to our three inspiring speakers:

  • Jeroen Reijnen, author of “Big in Brussels - The art of working and living in the EU Bubble”, who joined us online and offered key insights into the inner workings of the “EU Bubble”, what to expect, how to enter, and what truly matters when looking for career opportunities in the EU capital.

  • Luciano Zaami, whose many years of experience working within the European institutions, gave him a key perspective on international careers. His powerful message on finding true direction within one passions’ and interests’ truly resonated with the students, who left inspired and more motivated than ever.

  • And Debbie Carvalho Dala, who along with her colleagues at @Euractiv, showed us how a pan-europan media network stays at the top of global news and analyses the daily happenings of European affairs.

Beyond the conference rooms and corridors of power, students soaked in the multicultural energy of Brussels, its streets, its history, and its people. By the end of the journey, theory had met reality. Students returned home with the motivation to turn curiosity into action and to someday, in the near future, play their part in shaping Europe’s next chapter.
