"Message in a bottle" - THE WINNERS!

The official jury appoint the winners of "Message in a bottle", the first international and intercollegiate EUCA video contest.

They are:

  • First place that wins a grant of 2000 euros: "As time goes by", Collegio Universitario Renato Einaudi (www.collegioeinaudi.it), Italy (authors: Vito di Fonzo, Matteo Ferreccio, Alessandra Quarta);
  • Second place that wins a grant of 1000 euros: "Fly the gap", Collegio Universitario Viscontea-Fondazione Rui (www.collegioviscontea.it), Italy (authors: Maddalena Gioglio, Serene Sferrazza, Vittoria Moretta);
  • Third place that wins a grant of 500 euros: "Wiadamosc w butelce", Warsaw University of Technology (http://eng.pw.edu.pl/), Poland (authors: Andrey Michalecki, Karol Flont, Marcin Zaprawa).

The winners will be awarded the 14th June in Brussels, during the "Promoting a Responsible European Citizenship" final event at CESE.

The jury that evaluted the videos was made by: 

Niccolò Dal Corso, young Italian story-editor, is graduated in Philosophy at Università La Cattolica in Milan. He has a specialization in screenwriting for cinema and television. At the moment he is working as story-editor for cinema and cartoons at Lux Vide in Rome.

Andrzej Jakubiak, professor, graduated with honors from the Warsaw University of Technology in 1974. In 1990-1996 he was the Dean for Student Affairs Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of Warsaw University of Technology, and from 2002-2008 he was the Vice Recto for Student Affairs of Warsaw University of Technology. Prof. Jakubiak is strongly involved in supporting the activities of students in the scientific clubs, culture and recreation projects. He initiated, inter alia, to organize an annual students' festival Juwenalia. He created the Student Television of the Warsaw University of Technology, the Student Theatre and orchestra entertainment of Warsaw University of Technology called "The Engineers Band." He has been creator a series of concert, "Great Music in the Small Hall" and he is still involved in preparation this concerts. In 2008 at the hands of representatives of seven vintages of students received a unique title of Student of Honoris Caus. It is three times winner of the contest "Golden Chalk" for best lecturer of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology. His hobbies are cosmology, skiing and making movies.

Luison Lassala is Youth Affairs Director at Brosna Educational Centres ltd. Ireland, Director at Nullamore Youth Centre, member at Internet Safety Advisory Council, Youth Affairs Consultant at Oaktree Superior Coaching. Born in Valencia, Spain, Luison has been living in Ireland for over 20 years. He is a graduate of UCD in Economics and Philosophy, and also holds an MA in Economics and a Diploma in Systems Analysis from NUIG. He has worked as a Marketing professional with a leading computer manufacturer in the UK and Ireland, and currently works as a freelance consultant and trainer with a Dublin-based technology consultancy firm. He is a qualified facilitator for Franklin Covey, specializing in the 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens, but he also makes use of other educational and lifecoaching methods in his workshops. Together with InterMedia Consulting, Dr.Lassala conducted the first european report on YouTube usage among teenagers from 5 countries. This report was awarded with the 3rd prize of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in the Social & Human sciences category.

Monica Mondo, Italian journalist from Turin, is married with the journalist Franco Bechis. She has three children and lives in Rome. Graduated in Humane Letters, worked for newspapers (as Avvenire, Osservatore Romano, Il Tempo) magazines, radio e televisions; from its birth she hosts tv shows on Tele2000, CEI television. At the moment she is collaborating with “Il Riformista”.

Erminio Perocco is a famous Italian advertising writer, native of Mestre, that had been for long time Creative Director of Armando Testa Editore and created a lot of well-known advs for great Italian companies. He worked also for cinema and movies direction and, at the moment, he is counsellor for Lux Vide in Rome.

Bernhard Warner is a journalist and social media entrepreneur based in Rome and London. He is the director of the Custom Communication consultancy company which specialized in reputation management, social media monitoring, bespoke publishing and targeted corporate workshops. Together with Matthew Yeomans he runs the annual Social Media Influence Conference in London. After a B.A. from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick, he has worked both in America and Europe as the European internet correspondent for Reuters in London. He has also been lecturer in an introductory journalism course at John Cabot University in Rome launching a mobile journalism project with the help of Nokia. An eclectic writer, Mr. Warner has written on technology, hostage crisis, EU legislation and much more. He daily writes the Today’s Business Press column on the Big Money site. His articles have been published by Variety, Time, Wired, and The Guardian. He is contributor to The Times Online’s technology blog, Tech Central, and editorial consultant at Radar DDB UK.
