EU Project Erasmus ModES: work in progress

11 May, 2010

The ModES project, “Modernization of higher education through soft skills accreditation”, continues working to achieve its ambitious goal: creating a handbook of soft skills in order to integrate a common  European programme on soft skills with academic curricula and with postgraduate courses.

In November of 2009, the inaugural meeting took place in Brussels. Afterwards, under the supervision of Campus Biomedico University of Rome, the project began: in January the official website (www.modesproject.eu) was launched; at the same time, a panel of experts created two surveys on soft skills, one referring to the  residences and the other to some companies. In March and April, EUCA residences became directly involved in the project as corporate leaders in education strategies. Their responses to the survey underlined the best practices concerning soft skills. At the same time, some companies and stakeholders gave the experts some data on soft kills required by the labour market.

In May of 2010, the results will be analyzed and collected in an abstract that will be presented to the steering committee in June.  The same abstract will constitute the data background for elaboration in the handbook.
