Upgrading Europe goes online at www.upgradingeurope.eu

The website of the Project goes online at www.upgradingeurope.eu with the flyer and the programme of the launch event in Bilbao, March 16th.

Under the academic supervision of Dr. Susana del Río Villar who is also the author of the creative idea, this 3 year long project will bring together key players from academia, institutions, politics, think tanks and media.

The aim is to reinvent how European citizens can connect to each other in transnational networks and upgrade Europe for the XXI century. In the light of the forthcoming European Parliament Elections in 2014, the project also aims to spark the debate on citizens' engagement in European politics.

The key themes of the project that will be developed in conferences, debates, seminars and workshops across European cities are: European Citizens, Participation, and Representative Democracy complemented by participatory democracy.

EUCA will bring forward to the debate its experience of working together with young people to promote a responsible European citizenship.
